More than willing to swallow a lie.

The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,

Acts: 17: 24-28

Why is it that people all around us are more than willing to swallow a lie rather than accept the truth? As we hiked though Zion National Park today with a few thousand of our closest friends, many choose to believe either superstitious things about the mountains and canyons or that it all happened by chance.

Paul addressed the idea further in the opening chapter of Romans –

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

Romans 1: 20-23

Too many people fail to acknowledge the “God who made the world and everything in it.” This doesn’t mean that we don’t wonder about the process or how and why God did the things He did, but we should be conscious of the Creator when we observe such wonders in the Earth.
