When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

John 16:13

It is popular in some circles to seek out a spirit guide to help someone live their best life, but only the Holy Spirit can truly lead you or anyone else into the truth. Anything else is counterfeit and dangerous for your soul.

In the passage above Jesus declares the second principle activity of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. The Spirit guides us into what is actually true in our world and the primary means of transferring that Truth is through the Scriptures –

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

II Timothy 3:16-17

Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

I Corinthians 2:12-13
