Yesterday. It’s easy to get distracted by the mistakes and missed opportunities of yesterday, but there is absolutely nothing I can do about the past. (Although sometimes I do make things worse).
Like me, you may have some regrets about how you’ve failed, but that was yesterday. Let’s look forward to today. During a time of great unrest in his life and in the life of his nation, one of God’s greatest prophets, Jeremiah, faced the new day by first remembering.
But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:21-23
Christ is faithful to us. Every day. And every day is another opportunity to say yes to being a follower of Jesus. We can reflect Christ in us in every conversation, every action during this day.
Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust.
Psalm 143:8.
Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
Take a moment now and pray these words to the One you have chosen to follow. Slowly. Make them personal. Make the best of today.
