But if not…

Compromise.  Nearly all of us face the challenge daily.  Will I take the shortcut or the path of least resistance to make my life easier?

This morning’s sermon reminded me of the story from Daniel when the three Hebrews (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) refused to worship the statue of Nebuchadnezzar, they were threatened with death. Certainly, God would understand if they let their guard down just this once, so why not just go along? Do what you need to do. Their collective response?

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.
Daniel 3: 16-18

But if not

Where do you draw the line in your own life? I’ve thought about that myself as well.

Let us learn from these three brave men, who stood when the outcome was uncertain.
