Sing a song!

See, God has come to save me.
I will trust in him and not be afraid.
The Lord God is my strength and my song;
he has given me victory.”

Isaiah 12: 2

A few weeks ago we took our grandsons to see the current Wonka movie. While it wasn’t a musical, it did have several musical segments where the main characters expressed themselves in song. I think you could say it is an inspiring movie in its own fantastical way.

Maybe you’ve never burst out into song, but have you ever received such good news that you just want to enthusiastically share it with others? Even if they’re not really interested?

While much of Isaiah details God’s judgment on unbelief, in the twelfth chapter, Isaiah presents a brief interlude in the form of a song of praise in just six short but joyful verses.

Isaiah describes the response of someone who is saved –

“Give thanks to the LORD,
call upon his name,
make known his deeds among the peoples,
proclaim that his name is exalted.
“Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously;
let this be made known in all the earth.

Isaiah 12: 4-5

What is the response to salvation? Isaiah tells us to give thanks and call upon the Lord and then to tell others about what God has done across the earth.

Take a moment today and think about how God. has forgiven you and how you can share that news with someone else today in some meaningful way.
