Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

This afternoon a friend mentioned the troubles a mutual friend is facing currently. Earlier in the day I learned of a 10-year-old boy who was just diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, a rare cancer affecting only 1 to 3 people per million. You probably know a story or two as well.

Sometimes you just need some encouragement.

For those who follow Christ we can find great comfort in the words above. Instead of living in fear or disillusionment we are reminded that God is with us. We are reminded the God is God. There is no other who can provide us strength, help us live through difficult times, and remain confident that God will hold us firm so that we can endure.

No matter what we face, God is our strength.
