Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out!
Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.

Psalm 107:2 (NLT)

Earlier this week, Patrina told me about a podcast she listened to featuring a prominent Orthodox Jew and a Roman Catholic. During the conversation, the Catholic challenged the Jew on the idea of evangelism as the Orthodox Jew expressed misgivings about the idea. His concern is largely for the Jewish people.

In the passage above, the psalmist encourages the redeemed of the LORD to say so! I am reminded of an Andrae Crouch song from thirty years ago –

Say so, say so
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so
If you′ve been redeemed
From the hand of the enemy
Don't you think, don′t you think it's time we all to
Say so, say so

It's a simple idea, but how many of us hesitate to describe what Christ has done for us by forgiving our sins and redeeming our lives?

Again, I am reminded of Jesus' encounter with the man who was possessed by demons. Once the man was in his right mind, Jesus commanded him to do one thing - “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you”(Mark 5:19).
