But he knows the way that I take;
Job 23:10
when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.
Everyone walks through seasons when life feels heavy. Each of us carries a story marked by both joy and hardship. Yet few stories are as striking as Job’s. He lost everything—including the children he loved deeply—yet he held firmly to his faith and to the goodness of God.
When life feels chaotic and the weight of it all seems to grow, the life of Job reminds us of something steady and unchanging: God’s purpose has not wavered. Even in our darkest days, His promises remain a firm foundation beneath our feet.
What is a trial?
If you are a follower of Christ, you are not a stranger to trials—you are likely walking through one right now. It may be physical, relational, financial, emotional, or circumstantial. Sometimes it’s all of these at once.
But here is the truth we can hold onto: God never wastes a trial. He told us to expect them, and He also promised to be with us in them—working through them for our good. In the middle of difficulty, He is shaping your life, refining your character, and drawing you closer to Him.
So don’t let bitterness, unbelief, or discouragement take root. Those things will only cloud what God is doing beneath the surface. Instead, remember that you are not abandoned.
God sees you. He is attentive to every detail of your situation. Even when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel at the moment, He is at work in our lives. We can depend on Him.
