Remembering the benefits.

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 103:1-5

While we were in Arizona, our youngest grandson changed his baseball “walk-up” song (Yes, Little Leaguers now have announcers and them music) to “Praise (the Lord oh my soul)” after singing the tune with Patrina in the car. Playing the song opened up several opportunities to talk about things that truly matter with the coaches and families because music is a power way to communicate, don’t you agree?

Take a look at the verses above and remember the benefits of the LORD in our lives –

  • First, He forgives my sins ( and they are many).
  • He heals my diseases because He cares for my well-being now and in the future.
  • He redeems my life from the pit I am unable to crawl out of on my own.
  • He crowns me with love and compassion for others in my life.
  • He satisfies my desires with good things because He knows what is good and best for me.

Take a moment today to remember the benefits of the LORD.
