What God Wants Most Today

by | Apr 15, 2020 | Romans 12 | 0 comments

Read: Romans 12:1

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Reflect:

What does God want most?

Look at the effort God made to save you. Romans 5:8 tells us, “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

“God’s highest and best blessings come through the surrender of total commitment” – Chip Ingram

It makes sense, doesn’t it? So why is making a total commitment so difficult? I think the reason may be in that we think surrender is making a list of things we can’t do anymore or a list of things we must do in order to be surrendered.

But a life that is totally committed to Christ should be the most fulfilling life if we will just trust in Him and not ourselves.

“For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.” – Matthew 16:25

Respond:

Surrender. Make a commitment to go forward in Christ relying on Him to make the change. Notice Romans 12:1 doesn’t say anything about doing. Our only responsibility is to present our “bodies as a living sacrifice.”
